Two boys in custody after Bentonville shooting

BENTONVILLE -- Two boys are in custody after a shooting Saturday that left one person wounded, the Bentonville Police Department reported Sunday.

No details were released about the extent of the person's injuries or where they were shot, but the person was treated and released from a local hospital, according to the police.

The shooting was a result of an altercation within a moving vehicle, according to a news release. Five people were in the vehicle.

Two boys fled, and a nearby patrol unit picked up one of the boys. The other boy, identified as the shooter, was picked up from a house in Centerton with the assistance of the Centerton Police Department, according to a news release.

A firearm related to the shooting was found, according to the release.

Police said the shooting occurred near Southwest Regional Airport Boulevard and Southwest I Street.
