Washington County justices of the peace mulls lawsuit updates as budget woes loom

FAYETTEVILLE -- A court battle over how much authority Washington County Judge Joseph Wood has over hiring employees is playing out in the Circuit Court with no input from justices of the peace, said Justice of the Peace Eva Madison, a Democrat representing northeastern Fayetteville.

Next meeting

Washington County’s Finance and Budget Committee will discuss the $68 million budget at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 7 at the county courthouse.
