COMMENTS UAPB is 1-4 in its past five trips to Little Rock, with its last victory coming in 2012 when it beat Langston 17-14 in the season opener. … Despite losing its past three games, including the past two to previously winless Mississippi Valley State and Central State (Ohio), UAPB can still advance to the SWAC championship game in December. The Golden Lions are currently fourth in the West but must win their final four games and hope someone else beats Grambling State. Southern also can win the division and play for the league title if it wins out. … The Golden Lions are last in the SWAC in turnover margin, pass defense and opponent first downs. … UAPB senior defensive end Tashad Charity and Southern senior defensive end Aaron Tiller are tied for 20th in the Football Championship Subdivision with 6 sacks. Tiller is also tied for fifth in tackles for loss with 12½. … UAPB junior defensive back Shufon Alcorn leads the conference in passes defended with 14. … Southern, which is riding a three-game winning streak, has won the past four meetings with UAPB, but all of the Jaguars’ losses this year have occurred on the road (Southern Miss, Texas-San Antonio and Alcorn State).
