HAMPTON -- Hampton (6-2, 4-1 8-2A) took a fourth-quarter lead on a touchdown pass from Gauge Welch to Rylan Turner, then needed a late goal-line stand to close out the victory over Bearden (5-3, 2-3).
Bearden's final drive ended on the 2-yard line with a minute remaining.
Welch was 7-of-9 passing for 100 yards and 2 touchdowns. Deveyon Stephens had two catches for 62 yards and a touchdown and rushed 10 times for 62 yards.
