Teen says $3,000 in clothes stolen

A 17-year-old Little Rock resident reported being robbed of thousands of dollars' worth of clothes and shoes that he was trying to sell through a phone app after the would-be buyers showed up, grabbed the items and fled, authorities said.

It happened about 11 p.m. Tuesday outside a home in the 300 block of Ridgeway Drive, which runs north off West Markham Street in Little Rock's Hillcrest neighborhood.

The teen victim said he arranged for the buyer, who claimed through the app to be a student at Cabot High School, to meet him at his residence to complete the transaction, according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

Two people got out of a white car that pulled up, the victim told investigators, while a third stayed in the vehicle. One of the people approached the victim, grabbed two bags of clothes and shoes and "forcefully" pulled them away, causing the teen to fall to the ground, the report said.

The group drove south from the area.

The teen estimated the value of the stolen items to be around $3,000.

No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

Masked men steal cash from Subway

A Little Rock sandwich shop was held up at gunpoint Tuesday by robbers who stole cash while a 17-year-old employee hid under the counter, police said.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to the Subway at 7212 Geyer Springs Road, according to a report from the Little Rock Police Department.

Two female employees, ages 34 and 17, told police that two male assailants wearing black masks and black shirts came into the restaurant, pointed handguns at them and demanded money, the report said.

The teen reportedly said that she dove under the counter and stayed there until she saw the pair running west by the south window of the business, then heard a vehicle speed off.

A 34-year-old man who had been in the parking lot told officers that he saw three males wearing black flee the shop and get into a gold Pontiac Sunfire, which was parked on the south side of the building. The report states that the witness said he saw the men drive west on Forbing Road.

The robbers made off with an unspecified amount of cash, according to the report.

Police have named no suspects, and no arrests had been made at the time of the report.

Restaurant robbed of money, tequila

A pair of burglars used a small sledgehammer to break into a Mexican restaurant in west Little Rock before escaping with cash and tequila, authorities said.

The break-in at Santo Coyote, 11610 Pleasant Ridge Road, happened shortly after 1 a.m. Monday, according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

The business owner, who had reviewed surveillance footage, said the two intruders used the hammer to break through the glass on a patio door. They then took bottles of tequila from the bar and more than $2,600 in cash from an office, the report said. The stolen tequila was valued at $1,000.

The intruders reportedly fled in a white Chevrolet Silverado.

No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

NLR man accused of ramming home

A North Little Rock man is accused of ramming his vehicle into his neighbor's home, police said.

Charles Timothy Standridge, 43, was arrested shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday, according to a police report.

A neighbor told officers that he saw Standridge "doing donuts" in his vehicle in 82-year-old Billy Eaton's yard in the 300 block of Goshen Avenue in the city's Lakewood neighborhood.

The neighbor said he saw Standridge leave the area, then return and steer his vehicle directly into the side of Eaton's home, the report states.

Eaton was not home at the time of the crash.

"He rammed [the car] in -- straight in," Eaton told Arkansas Online on Wednesday. "I don't understand why he did it at all."

Eaton said it took a wrecker to get the car out. The crash pushed a "big hunk" of debris into his home, broke a window and took out a chunk of the wall.

"I got cold in that house last night," the 82-year-old said.

Eaton said Standridge, whom he knows as Tim, lives about a block away and sometimes came over to do remodeling work for him.

North Little Rock Police Department spokesman Brian Dedrick said Standridge declined to speak to officers after he was arrested, telling them he "wasn't thinking right."

The damage to Eaton's home is estimated at $6,000, according to Dedrick.

Standridge was being held without bail at the Pulaski County jail on a charge of first-degree criminal mischief as of midday Wednesday.
