Where Is It?

The unpaved eastern bank portion of the Spadra Creek Nature Trail in Clarksville is known as the Scout Trail. The trail is more scenic than the paved western bank portion and runs between the trailhead off South Rogers Street and Main Street. Shown are the stairs used to reach the trail from the trailhead parking lot and the historic 1907 iron bridge used to cross the creek to reach the paved portion of the trail

The Happy Trails hiking column came across this site while rambling around the state. Do you know where it is?

Hint: The Warren pony truss bridge has steel grate decking that today is used by pedestrians and mountain bikers enjoying a nature trail along the creek. The Vincennes Co. of Vincennes, Ind., built it in the 20th century to carry wagons, many loaded with coal.

Hint 2: Although the photo suggests a rural setting, the bridge is only a quarter mile from an interstate. The trailhead lies behind two fast-food restaurants, a McDonald's and a Wendy's. Wendy's is closed.
