ARKANSAS RIVER Crappie are biting across the entire Arkansas River in depths of 7-8 feet near jetties, riprap and other rock structure. Minnows have been catching the most fish, but anglers have had success with artificial baits such as white/chartreuse Slab Buster jigs, or small tubes in black/chartreuse or blue chartreuse. In the Little Rock Pool, bass have been biting spinnerbaits and Rat-L-Traps really well.

GREERS FERRY LAKE Fishing is excellent right now for all species. Crappie are biting Road Runners slow rolled in the timber or vertical-fished over brush piles or in pole timer in depths of 15-25 feet. Black bass are biting jigs, Carolina rigs, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, topwater baits and spoons from "super shallow" down to depths of 40 feet. Catfish are being caught on jugs all over the lake at various depths using an assortment of baits. Walleye are moving into rivers and will hit crankbaits, spoons and minnows on jigheads and minnows on drop-shots in depths of 5-40 feet. Hybrids and white bass are feeding all over the lake and are hitting spoons, inline spinnerbaits, Alabama rigs, hair jigs and swimbaits in depths of 15-40 feet.

BEAVER LAKE Beaver Lake stripers are feeding voraciously near points, humps, pockets or tree lines where stripers can corner bait. Some stripers can be caught fishing the open water or channel areas near high-percentage areas, as well. Use spoons, jigs or topwater plugs when stripers school on the surface. Fish free lines, balloons and downlines between depths of 10-40 feet. Troll umbrella rigs with white or chartreuse jigs/grubs or plugs like Rapala No. 14 husky jerks in black back or purple back colors, as well as 5- or 6-inch Smithwick Rogues in similar colors on downriggers or snap weights and planer boards to get some depth and stagger your presentation.
