Beaver Lake

Striped bass are biting shad or brood minnows in the Hickory Creek area. Mike Whitehouse at Hickory Creek Marina said lots of big stripers to 40 pounds have been caught lately, more than in most Novembers.

Crappie are biting jigs or minnows 12 feet deep around brush. No report on black bass.

John Newlun at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said striper fishing is good from Rocky Branch park to Horseshoe Bend park. Top-water lures are working to catch surfacing fish. Use brood minnows or shad for fish 10 to 20 feet deep.

Crappie fishing is good around docks and brush with jigs or minnows 10 to 20 feet deep.

Average water temperature is 54 to 57 degrees.

Lake Sequoyah

Mike McBride at the lake bait shop said crappie are biting fair on jigs or minnows eight feet deep. Try spinner baits or plastic worms for black bass.

Lake Fayetteville

David Powell at the lake office said anglers fishing from shore along the dam are catching largemouth bass with square-billed crank baits.

White bass are biting at the public fishing dock on jigs.

Trolling is the best way to catch crappie. Troll with small crank baits or jigs. The ideal trolling speed is 0.5 mph. Crappie are eight feet deep. Average water temperature is 52 degrees.

Swepco Lake

Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said black bass are biting Zoom Flukes and plastic worms.

Illinois River

Stroud recommends using tube baits, grubs, jerk baits or small jig and pigs to catch black bass.

Eastern Oklahoma

Stroud recommends using an Alabama rig, jig and pig or plastic worm at Lake Eucha.

Bella Vista

Hook, Line and Sinker in Bella Vista said few people are fishing. Try buzz baits or plastic worms for black bass at any Bella Vista lake.

Use small spoons or Power Bait for trout at Lake Brittany.

Table Rock Lake

Pete Wenners at Pete's Professional Guide Service said black bass fishing is fair. Several lures may work including Rapala ice fishing jigs, grubs or plastic worms on a drop-shot rig.

The mouths of creek arms are good places to try.
