The beautiful Christmas trees twinkled as formally clad supporters of CARTI enjoyed an extravagant three-course meal Nov. 18 at Tux 'n Trees.
The annual event, held at the Wally Allen Ballroom at the Statehouse Convention Center, began with a silent auction and cocktails.
Next, guests were served a creative salad that included grilled peaches, bison sausage and blood orange coulis. The entree featured scallops and filets. Desserts were strawberry cookies and cream, a strawberry mousse chocolate sphere and Oreo cheesecake and white chocolate.
Jennifer Day and Shelia Vaught co-chaired the event. Dennis Jungmeyer was named the CARTI honoree.
A three-night Lake Tahoe ski getaway raised the most money -- $3,500 including airfare for two -- during the live auction.
The CARTI Festival of Trees -- which includes three other events -- was founded in 1977 to provide support and care for cancer patients and their families.
