Clinton presidential victory marked at 25th anniversary

The 25th anniversary of Bill Clinton's first election to the presidency brought many friends and supporters of the first Arkansas president to Little Rock for a reunion on Nov. 17 at the Arkansas Studies Institute.

The group of Clinton friends, known as the Arkansas Travelers, was formed in 1991 to campaign in early primary states and continued their support in the 1996 election and in former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's campaign for president.

Guests from across Arkansas and from out of state shared hugs and campaign stories as they mingled on the first floor of the institute. Many arrived at the reunion sporting a variety of political pins or with memorabilia from the elections.

Among the guests were Sheila Galbraith Bronfman, who helped organize the Travelers and the reunion; former Gov. Jim Guy Tucker; Barbara and former Sen. David Pryor; and former Arkansas Treasurer Jimmie Lou Fisher.
