Stump 'art' brings a smile to those passing by
Thank you to whomever decorates the stump on the corner of Mission Boulevard and Charles Street. No matter how good or bad my day has been, your stump "art" makes me smile. The ghost was extremely funny.
Kudos. Thank you very much for your humor.
Happy Thanksgiving.

What's needed at UA is understanding of fans
The Razorbacks' season and the future has been preying on my mind all morning. Why? The athletic director was fired last week. The coaches are under fire and may be gone by the end of next week. But the history and tradition of the Arkansas Razorback football program does matter when you grow up and live in this state. You feel hope that somehow the team will pull off a great victory this week and next. We want badly to believe in our beloved Razorbacks.
If we do make more changes, the decision-makers need to consider the loyalty and belief systems of the fans in our state. The football program is not just a money machine -- it is part of the joy and culture of living in Arkansas. The future of the program depends on keeping these bonds with all Arkansans. Then we will all be there for the program -- through the depths and the peaks of success.

Praise for cartoonist's take on the president
I'd like to thank John Deering, cartoonist for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, for his many "right on" cartoons portraing Trump for what he is: arrogant, rude, bellicose, unempathetic and a liar, among other things.
Also, I think Mr. Hussman Jr., publisher, Rusty Turner, editor, and managing staff should be commended for allowing these cartoons to be put in the paper, the leading newspaper in a very red state.
