Hikes explore Hobbs

Hill 'N Dale Hiking Club will hike at Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area on Monday. Hikes will take place on the 4-mile Dutton Hollow Loop trail, the one-half-mile Sinking Stream Trail and 1.5-mile Shaddox Hollow Trail.

All hikers are welcome. Meet at 9 a.m. at the Piney Road trailhead in the park, or at 8 a.m. at Lowe's in Bella Vista to car pool. Bring a sack lunch

Trail group sets two hikes

Ozark Highlands Trail Association will hike to the Glory Hole waterfall and Kings River Falls on Sunday.

All hikers are welcome. Bring water and lunch. Meet at 9 a.m. at Harp's in Elkins to carpool. The Glory Hole hike is two miles, rated moderate. The Kings River Falls hike is 0.75 miles of level walking.

Park offers backpack trips

Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area plans three overnight clinics for beginner backpackers.

Clinics are set for Nov. 24-25 and Dec. 9-10 on the 8.5-mile Pigeon Roost Trail. Trips start at 2 p.m. and end at noon the next day. Participants need to bring their own food, water and equipment for camping overnight on the trail.

Cost is $10 plus tax. To register, call the park visitor center, 479-789-5000.
