Suicide suspected in death of airman stationed at Little Rock Air Force Base

Authorities believe an airman who was found dead in his car in northeast Arkansas last month shot himself.

Motorists called 911 after seeing Senior Airman Michael Lusk's vehicle veer off U.S. 67 South near Walnut Ridge Oct. 26, said Lawrence County sheriff's office detective Jaime White.

First responders found Lusk, 24, of Johnson City, Tenn., in the car dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, White said.

Officials plan to send Lusk's body for autopsy.

Lusk, an aircrew and maintenance debrief specialist, was a four-year airman stationed at Little Rock Air Force Base in Jacksonville.
