Accidental gunshot injures Little Rock resident

A 43-year-old man was accidentally shot in the leg Friday, a Little Rock police spokesman said.

Officers were called at 12:42 p.m. Friday to 3722 Harper Road in southwest Little Rock for a report of a shooting that had just occurred, according to an online dispatch log.

Police spokesman Steve Moore said Lee Marvin Fowler, who lives at the address, was shot in the leg outside the house. He was taken to the hospital and did not have life-threatening injuries, Moore said.

The shooter was identified as 22-year-old Jacairr Dailey, Moore said. A witness told police that Dailey was showing a gun when the firearm went off, accidentally wounding Fowler.

According to Moore, Fowler said he was working on a vehicle when he heard a firearm go off. Although he was shot, Fowler said he did not want to pursue any charges, Moore said.
