BENTONVILLE -- A trio of Bentonville baseball players made their preparations for the collegiate level by signing their national letters of intent during Wednesday night's ceremony at the Tiger Athletic Complex.

Kam'Ron Mays-Hunt and Tyler Johnson -- Tiger teammates the past two years -- will continue to be teammates as they both signed with Arkansas. Nathan Lyons, meanwhile, will go to another school but remain in the state as he signed with Arkansas Little Rock.

Mays-Hunt, who has played shortstop and outfield for Bentonville the past two seasons, said he could play relief pitcher and some outfield for the Razorbacks. He hit .340 with two home runs, five doubles, two triples and 17 runs batted in last season.

Johnson, mainly a first baseman with Bentonville, hopes to remain at that position at Arkansas, but could also play one of the two corner outfield positions. He hit .346 with three home runs and nine doubles while driving in 15 runs last spring.

Lyons said he plans on playing in the middle infield or possibly third base while at UALR, the same positions he played while being with the Tigers. He hit .271 last season with 14 runs batted in.
