Retirement community opens in Rogers

Primrose Retirement Community's grand opening celebration was Thursday . The event included a ribbon cutting and an open house.

The community is at 650 S. Dodson Road in Rogers and includes 50 assisted-living apartments, 24 town homes and 24 memory-care apartments. Floor plans are available in a mix of one- and two-bedroom options. Common areas and amenities include a wellness center, pub, chapel, business center and movie theater.

The multimillion-dollar project was financed by Bear State Bank and is owned and operated by South Dakota-based Primrose Retirement Communities LLC. Primrose was founded in 1989 and has 35 locations in 17 states.

Pradco Outdoor buys War Eagle lures

Pradco Outdoor Brands, a manufacturer and marketer of fishing and hunting brands and products, acquired War Eagle Custom Lures.

War Eagle Custom Lures has operated in Rogers for the past 21 years. Keith Brashers started the company in his garage and built it into the No. 3 brand of spinnerbaits in the U.S., according to the 2016 Annual Anglers Trends Report by Southwick & Associates. Brashers will continue to be involved in the operation with Pradco.

All War Eagle Custom Lures product development, marketing, accounting, manufacturing and purchasing functions will be managed from Pradco's Fishing Division in Fort Smith. Brand manager Chad Warner will have responsibility for War Eagle.

Pradco Fishing has approximately 230 employees in Fort Smith and features a three-shift, 24-hours-a-day manufacturing operation. Pradco Outdoor Brands has its headquarters in Birmingham, Ala.
