Alma top seed from 5A-West

The Arkansas Activities Association determined in a meeting Saturday morning that Alma will be the No. 1 seed from the 5A-West Conference, which finished the regular season in a four-way tie for first place.

Alma, Greenbrier, Harrison and Morrilton all finished 5-2 in the 5A-West. Greenbrier, Harrison and Morrilton all won their games Friday, but Alma lost to Maumelle, setting up the tiebreaker.

For the first tiebreaker, Alma and Greenbrier each went 2-1 against the co-leaders. Since Alma won the head-to-head matchup with Greenbrier, the Airedales earned the No. 1 seed while the Panthers are the No. 2.

Harrison and Morrilton were 1-2 against the other co-leaders. Harrison won the head-to-head matchup with Morrilton, so the Goblins earned the No. 3 seed while the Devil Dogs are the No. 4.
