Beaver Lake

A high water level has brought good fishing for catfish. James Whittle at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said catfish are biting nightcrawlers, liver or goldfish. Rod and reel, limb lines and trotlines are working.

Black bass are hitting top-water lures early and spinner baits any time of day. Walleye also are hitting spinner baits. Flipping a jig and pig around bushes and tree trunks is another way to catch bass.

Crappie are biting 12 feet deep around docks and brush in the Prairie Creek area.

Mike Whitehouse at Hickory Creek Marina reports little fishing activity because of the high water.

Beaver tailwater

Tom Steinke recommends using Power Bait for trout. There is limited fishing from shore at Parker Bend and Bertrand accesses because of the high water. Fishing from a boat is best.

Lake Fayetteville

Al Perea at the lake office said black bass are biting minnows. Bass to 4 pounds have been caught recently. Use crickets or worms for bluegill.

Lake Sequoyah

Mike McBride at the lake bait shop said black bass are biting well on spinner baits and plastic worms.

Catfishing is good with liver, shad and small sunfish. Flathead catfish to 16 pounds have been caught recently.

Crappie fishing is slow. Try jigs or minnows eight feet deep.

Swepco Lake

Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said black bass are biting all types of soft plastic lures two to 20 feet deep.

Kenny Stroud recommends fishing for black bass with top-water lures early and late. Use plastic worms during the day.

Bella Vista

Justin McClelland at Hook, Line and Sinker in Bella Vista said black bass fishing is good at all Bella Vista lakes with spinner baits, top-water lures or jig and pigs.

Bluegill are biting well on crickets or worms two to four feet deep. Catfish are biting nightcrawlers or shrimp.

Eastern Oklahoma

Kenny Stroud said black bass at Lake Eucha can be caught with spinner baits, plastic worms or jig and pigs.

Table Rock Lake

The Missouri Department of Conservation reports good fishing for black bass with spinner baits and Ned rigs along main and secondary points.

Catfish are biting well on worms or cut baits. Bluegill fishing is good with worms. Crappie are fair on minnows or jigs.
