Bentonville man pleads guilty in Medicaid case

A Bentonville man was placed on probation and will have to pay more than $400,000 in fines, restitution and civil penalties in connection with false Medicaid claims.

Joseph Brannon Randolph, 42, of Bentonville pleaded guilty to theft of property by deception, a class B felony, and failure to maintain records, a class D felony, according to information from Attorney General Leslie Rutledge's office.

The case was initiated by a referral from the federal Office of the Medicaid Inspector General and was prosecuted in Pulaski County, according to Rutledge's office.

Randolph was sentenced to five years of probation and will pay $27,942 in restitution to the Arkansas Medicaid Program, a $2,500 fine and court costs in the criminal case. He also agreed to pay a civil judgment of $399,876 and civil penalties resulting from false claims he submitted to the Arkansas Medicaid Program.
