Ozark Regional Transit offers free rides to Northwest Arkansas kids

SPRINGDALE -- Ozark Regional Transit is again offering free rides for kids this summer.

The "Kids Ride Free" summer program pertains to all fixed routes, according to a news release.

All three area malls, two aquatic centers, four public libraries, four movie theaters, several parks and museums, the downtown areas of every town that participates in public transit, The Jones Center and multiple trailheads along the Razorback Greenway are accessible using the bus system, according to the release.

The free fare service begins Tuesday and runs through Sept. 1, and is open to anyone born in 2000 or later. Children younger than 12 are required to have an older guardian accompanying them.

Summer lunch programs are offered by local public schools and Ozark Transit routes go to many of the locations, according to the release. The transit's website has all of the lunch locations and the pertinent routes to them.
