SUNSET LAKE WALKING TRAIL
Location: Park at the Benton Dog Park at 924 Fairfield Road in the southwest part of Benton and walk down the hill to the lake. Take the trail counterclockwise.

Length: I squeezed out 1.5 miles by starting at the dog park. There’s an option for an even longer walk if you explore the paths between the nearby ballfields.
Main attractions: This is a dandy little lake with lots of cacophonous geese and ducks.
Hazards: Not a hazard, but nearby Interstate 30 is just through the trees and irritatingly loud for half the trail.
Dog, bike, tyke friendly? Friendly to all three, but do not feed the geese no matter how much they beg.
