SPRINGDALE -- Storm damage has put tonight's Murphy Park's grand reopening in question.

"The park did get hit. We have some trees down," Melissa Reeves, the city's public relations director, said this morning.

"I'll have a more comprehensive look in the next couple of hours," she said.

Murphy in May, the park's reopening event, is scheduled to be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. tonight and feature a live band and food vendors.

Renovations recently were completed at the park at 501 S. Pleasant St. after more than a year of work.
