NWA Fishing Report

BEAVER LAKE

Much of the lake is muddy, but the fish are biting.

James Whittle at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said black bass are deep and shallow. Bass can be caught by fishing where the shoreline was before the major rise in lake level. That’s about 15 feet deep. Try plastic worms, spinner baits or jig and pigs for these deep bass. Bass are also moving into the shallow bushes and cover. Use buzz baits or spinner baits. Flipping a jig and pig around bushes and tree trunks may also work.

Crappie are biting in the Prairie Creek area, Whittle said. Use minnows or jigs 15 to 20 feet deep. Catfish are biting all types of catfish bait. Average water temperature is 60 to 63 degrees. The south half of the lake is stained to muddy. Water clears the closer one travels toward the dam.

LAKE FAYETTEVILLE
