President Trump's work ethic is admirable

Having endured, while mostly semi-conscious, 13 presidents, I have to tell you that President Donald Trump's first few weeks in the White House have been earth-shattering, history-making and just outstanding. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what makes his opponents so mad, so hostile and so war-like. No matter whether you love him or hate him, he's got a work ethic.

He told the country what he would do if elected and the country elected him. Period! Vast main-stream media attacks his character, his family, and his purpose but he never flinches on fulfilling his promises to those who elected him. What a "real" change?

I am convinced President Trump is headed in the same direction Ronald Reagan took in 1984. There will be, sooner than later, an organization perhaps called "Democrats for Trump" and the 2020 election will be a bigger landslide victory for Trump than 2016.

Without question, this is the most refreshing start for any president in my lifetime. Will he push all the right buttons? Will I agree with everything he's done and said? Not at all. But, my dislike for those bent on destroying him and my support for those chosen for his revolutionary administration and his desire to "drain the swamp" [mean he] will have my continual support for the next four years.

His agenda is clear and his determination is evident. President Donald Trump is big league change.

United States' laws deserve to be respected

Eric Besson wrote a tear-jerking article [March 15] on the Guatemalan family, Amanda and Jose Aristondo, who are at risk of being forced from the United States because they are illegally here. It is a sad reality. I also am a Christian, a retired pastor and have family members legally coming to this country, paying the price for citizenship. Why shouldn't this family? My arms of welcome are open wide to every person.

However, when people are admitted illegally, we as Christians show a disrespect for our laws, for the Lord Jesus Christ, and for our country. This general lack of respect for law has contributed to the disorder and anarchy existing in the country from which they came and, inadvertently, the same problem is being propagated here, since lawlessness is contagious, spreading everywhere. So, what law are we going to keep? And, when?

Bringing Jesus Christ into this illegal situation misrepresents the Savior completely. Jesus is the truth, not a lie. Let's leave it this way. And lastly, our country has always functioned on honest and fair laws, respected and followed by each citizen. Shouldn't we as Americans (born here or born elsewhere) maintain this posture?
