BEAVER LAKE
Striped bass fishing is good in the Point 12 area, said Mike Whitehouse at Hickory Creek Marina.
Anglers are catching lots of stripers from Point 12 and upstream into the White and War Eagle river arms. Shad or brood minnows are the top baits. Crappie are biting minnows in the Hickory Creek area around brush 5 to 12 feet deep.
James Whittle at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said black bass are biting on main lake shorelines and points. The top lures are Alabama rigs, crank baits, jerk baits and swim baits.
Walleye are biting in the White River arm on chartreuse crank baits or nightcrawler rigs. Trolling is the best method. Crappie fishing is good south of the Arkansas 12 bridge. Average water temperature is 54 to 59 degrees.
BEAVER TAILWATER
Lisa Mullins at the Beaver Dam Store said trout are biting Power Bait in bright colors. The top flies are pheasant tails, midges, hare’s ears, Copper Johns and San Juan worms. Best lures are small spoons in gold and red or gold and silver.
LAKE FAYETTEVILLE
Angela Perea at the lake office said black bass are biting squarebill crank baits and plastic worms. Crappie are biting jigs five feet deep. Use crickets or worms for crappie five feet deep.
LAKE SEQUOYAH
Mike McBride at the lake bait shop said catfish are biting liver or shad. Andrew Burns of Fayetteville caught a 61 pound blue catfish on 6-pound test line.
Black bass are biting spinner baits, plastic worms and jerk baits. Crappie are in prespawn mode. Fish with jigs or minnows two to three feet deep. Use crickets, worms or small jigs for bluegill.
LAKE ELMDALE
Lucky Key at Duck Camp Fishing Retreat said crappie are biting at the public fishing dock on minnows 12 feet deep. White jigs tipped with a crappie nibble are also working.
Bluegill are biting worms. Light line and a small hook are keys to catching them.
Try spinner baits, crank baits and jerk baits for black bass. Fish along the dam eight to 10 feet deep.
ILLINOIS RIVER
Stroud recommends using grubs or tube baits for black bass.
BELLA VISTA
Justin McClelland at Hook, Line and Sinker in Bella Vista said bluegill are biting worms or crickets 15 feet deep at all Bella Vista lakes.
Black bass are biting jerk baits and Alabama rigs at all Bella Vista lakes. Trout at Lake Brittany can be caught with Power Bait or small spoons.
EASTERN OKLAHOMA
Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said crappie at Lake Eucha are biting minnows or jigs 10 to 15 feet deep. Use plastic worms for black bass.
At Grand Lake, the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation reports good crappie fishing with jigs or minnows around brush and docks in the coves. Catfish are biting shad all over the lake.
TABLE ROCK LAKE
Pete Wenners at Pete’s Professional Guide Service said black bass are moving shallow and can be caught on a variety of lures. Try jerk baits, swim baits, jig and pigs or single-tail grubs along gravel points, bluff ends and channel swings. Some bass are suspended 10 feet deep over water that is 40 to 50 feet deep.
SWEPCO LAKE
Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said plastic worms are working well for black bass day and night. The best fishing is at night.
