Bella Vista man accused of indecent exposure

BENTONVILLE -- A Bella Vista man was arrested Thursday in connection with charges of exposing himself to women on the trail near the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.

Charles E. Michel, 56, was arrested in connection with three counts of indecent exposure. He was released with a court date and ordered to stay away from all Bentonville trails and parks, according to a Bentonville Police Department news release.

Police began an investigation Feb. 7 after a report of a man exposing himself to a woman on the trail near the museum, according to the news release. Another incident occurred Feb. 13 in the same area,.

Police were called a third time to the same area March 20. Officers found and interviewed Michel in the area, and he matched the suspect's description, according to the release.

A photographic lineup was presented to the victims who identified Michel as the suspect, according to the release. Police obtained a warrant for Michel's arrest Thursday, and he later turned himself in to police.
