My favorite space is: our sunroom.
Why? After seven years of living in our home, our sunroom has evolved the most and served many different functions for us. We can use it all four seasons of the year and we still get the feeling that we're outside because of the floor to ceiling windows.
Before we had our daughter, Vail, I refinished furniture to sell and spent long hours in that space painting and playing my music loud. Now, it serves as a multifunctional second living area. It's a great messy art room for her and a place for her to ride her tricycle and burn some energy on a rainy day.
We open the windows and watch football in the fall, hang Christmas lights and host caroling parties in December, and occasionally even use it as a workout space. It's also where we hang out with our boxer, Moose, since he doesn't get to come in the house. It's the place where we watch thunderstorms together and take Sunday naps. If we're out there, it usually means we're together and not working and I love that!
If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: maybe add a nice rug. But on second thought, with the dog and 3-year-old, I better leave it low-maintenance!
