Arkansas 112 lanes to close for project

Work on the U.S. 412 northern bypass project will require a lane closure on Arkansas 112 in Springdale for five days beginning Monday, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said.

Crews laying asphalt will limit traffic to one lane between Carrie Smith and West Miller roads from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily through Friday, weather permitting.

The lane closure will alternate between the northbound and southbound lane, the department said. Traffic will be controlled using flaggers, traffic barrels and warning signs. Two lanes of traffic will be restored by 4 p.m. each day.

The work is part of a $100.6 million project to build about 4 miles of the new four-lane bypass, which goes from Interstate 49 to Arkansas 112. The project is expected to be completed by mid-2018, the department said.
