LINCOLN -- Lincoln's Chicken Rod Nationals Car Show continues to be a success year after year and the sixth annual show will be held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday on Lincoln Square.

More than 100 vehicles registered for the 2016 show and many visitors showed up to walk around Lincoln Square to see a variety of antique cars and trucks, classic cars and vehicles under progress and Rat Rods.

Admission and parking are free. Cost to register a vehicle is a $20 entry fee. The first 100 entries will receive a free T-shirt. Door prizes will be available for participants.

The Lincoln Senior Center will have a breakfast fundraiser from 8-10 a.m.

Concessions also will be available and will include hamburgers served by Lincoln Band Boosters, snow cones served by Lincoln Project Graduation and pulled pork sandwiches served by Lincoln Bright Futures.

The car show is sponsored by Lincoln Area Chamber of Commerce and Lincoln Pound Pals has been selected to receive proceeds from the community event. The Pound Pals also will have a booth set up to sell drinks.

Awards will be presented for a variety of categories, such as Best Chopped, Best Engine, Best in Show, Coolest 4x4 Truck, Top 10 Show Car and Longest Distance.

The public is invited to come and enjoy the car show.
