Samaritan orchard garden to be replanted Saturday, volunteers needed

The Samaritan Community Center will move its fruit orchard Saturday morning and needs volunteers to help with the relocation.

"The goal is to create a beautiful, edible landscape right here in the heart of Arkansas," a news release stated. "Any and all volunteers are welcome."

The new location will be next to Fellowship Bible Church of NWA at 1501 W. Pleasant Grove Road in Rogers. Apple, pear and persimmon trees were donated by the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation and Vitafusion.

Volunteers need to arrive between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and bring gardening supplies, water, a hat and rain jacket.
