Police say Bentonville, Rogers robberies linked

BENTONVILLE -- The suspects arrested in connection with the Sunday morning robbery of a Dollar General in Bentonville are accused of committing the same crime in Rogers.

Zachary Lucero, 26, of Bentonville and a juvenile were arrested Monday in connection with the Saturday robbery of the Dollar General at 1201 S. Eighth St. in Rogers, according to Keith Foster, a spokesman for the Rogers Police Department.

Rogers police responded to an armed robbery report. Two male suspects were seen leaving the scene in a white sports utility vehicle, according to a Rogers police news release.

An armed robbery of the Dollar General at 2107 S. Walton Blvd. in Bentonville was reported Sunday morning. Two males with a handgun took money from the store clerk, according to a Bentonville police news release.

Lucero and the juvenile later were arrested by Bentonville police at Flagstone Creek Apartments at 4501 S.W. Brooklyn Ave., according to the news release.

The investigation revealed the two people arrested in connection with the Bentonville robbery were responsible for robbery in Rogers, Foster said.

Lucero was being held in the Benton County Jail with no bond set Monday. He has been arrested in connection with aggravated robbery, theft of property and contributing to delinquency of a minor. Prosecutors have not filed formal charges against Lucero.

His arraignment is scheduled for 8 a.m. July 17 in Benton County Circuit Judge Robin Green's court.

Charges are pending for the juvenile, Foster said.
