Veterans care system earns certification

The Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks earned hospital and behavioral health certification from the joint commission. The certification demonstrates the system's focus on providing high quality and safe care in hospital, behavioral health and home care standards.

The system underwent an on-site survey April 11-14, when joint commission experts evaluated several areas including environment of care, life safety, home-based services and behavioral health.

Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks offers same-day access, direct scheduling in optometry and audiology, services to women and lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender veterans and a number of specialty care services.

The systems consists of one health facility located in Fayetteville and has community-based outpatient clinics in Fort Smith, Harrison and Ozark; Branson and Mount Vernon, Mo.; and Jay, Okla.

Tokyo Sushi opens 2nd NW Arkansas site

The second Northwest Arkansas Tokyo Sushi restaurant is now open at 2603 W. Pleasant Grove Road, Suite 101 in Rogers.

The restaurant serves Japanese and Asian cuisine and is open from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The site also serves a Korean menu and has nonsushi items available.

Takeout orders are available.

The other area location for Tokyo Sushi & Bar is at 522 W. Dickson St. in Fayetteville.

Ribbon-cutting set for Anytime Fitness

Anytime Fitness opened in mid-June in Nelson's Crossing in Fayetteville. The 5,000-square-foot gym is above Jason's Deli. A ribbon-cutting, featuring tours and door prizes, with the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce will be from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday.

The gym's owner is Mike Foti, and the facility has been redone inside and equipped with new cardio, strength, free weights and training equipment. Individual and small-group training is available to all members.

The gym is staffed from 6 a.m.-6:30 p.m. weekdays and is accessible using a key fob 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is fully monitored by cameras and has parking in the rear of the building with an entrance that takes members either to the elevator or stairs. Anytime Fitness members have access to more than 2,500 gyms in the United States and an additional 1,000-plus in other parts of the world as part of the basic membership package.

Auto dealership is ready for business

Springdale's newest auto dealership, Rath Auto Resources, opened Saturday at 3558 S. Thompson St. The dealership features a full-service Meineke Car Care Center.

Rath Auto Resources is based in Fort Smith. That location is owned and operated by Larry Rath. David Rath, Larry Rath's son, decided to expand operations to Northwest Arkansas.

The dealership has partnered with local organizations, including Saving Grace Inc., Humane Society of the Ozarks and The Children's Safety Center. A customer will select the charity of his choice when purchasing a vehicle, and donations will be made to the organizations each month.
