PINE BLUFF -- Charlie McDonald, aged 17, was arrested at midnight last night on a charge of entering the store of W. A. Bobo and stealing $985 in gold from the cash register. Constable C. C. Green, who made the arrest at the home of Mrs. A. H. Harris, where the young man roomed, today recovered all but $5 of the money. It was buried under the Baughman cabinet shop, where McDonald was employed. The young man told him it was buried there and the officer soon recovered it.

• Divers searching Sunday morning for the bodies of two Little Rock businessmen believed to have drowned Thursday at Lake Maumelle, found a white yachting cap of a type owned by one of the missing men. However, the divers still were unable to find the bodies of Harry D. Allen Jr., 44, of 73 Robinwood Drive, and John H. Hunt Jr., 47, of 5525 Grandview Road, who disappeared about 9 p.m. Thursday from a speedboat about a half-mile north of Maumelle Harbor Landing. Sheriff Frank Mackey said the cap was found in the same general area as a pair of tennis shoes and a cigarette lighter, discovered early Friday.

• With lightning flashing in the sky over the Arkansas River and an angry, flooded river surging along Sunday night, rescuers called off the search for a Sherwood woman who had called her parents to say she was about to jump off the Interstate 430 bridge. Given the nearly six-story fall from the bridge to the fast moving river, Brandy Priest's parents, Bing and Patricia Priest, held little hope that she would be found alive. But, amazingly, a game warden found the 31-year-old woman clinging to the shore Monday morning, about halfway between the bridge and Murray Lock and Dam.
