The 30-Minute Rule

Grand Prix's first race -- the One Hour Track Run in Pottsville -- was meant to be Jan. 22. The race was rescheduled to Jan. 28 due to weather, but before that decision was made, organizers announced that they were instituting "the 30-Minute Lightning Rule."

It's pretty self-explanatory: Races will be delayed for 30 minutes after the last strike.

But this note made me laugh. "If lightning occurs during the race, the race may be paused and continued later. Runners will be asked to leave the shoe with the timing chip on the track and take shelter."
