Where I live: Sherwood's Westlake Subdivision

Occupation: I've been a wildlife biologist for 51 years. After the seven years at Louisiana State University to get a bachelor of science in zoology and a master's degree in game management, my life has been the dream job for a person who loves the outdoors. The greatest frustration is being in a deer stand and wishing I could be duck hunting, squirrel hunting, rabbit hunting or fishing at the same time.

My favorite space: My man cave, where my wildlife and fishery trophies reside. This is actually my second favorite place in Arkansas, my trout-fishing camp on the White River near Calico Rock being my first. My father was a Baptist preacher and we lived in five different towns when I was growing up. When I was blessed with the opportunity to live in Arkansas in 1966, I have never wanted to live anywhere else, although I've been as far away as Indonesia and in many of the 50 states, no other place can top Calico Rock with Sherwood coming in a close second.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Add more turkey beards. Hopefully, I will have an opportunity to harvest a couple of turkeys in Alabama in March and add beards and spurs to the collection. My remaining life goal is to hear more turkeys gobble, spit and drum and watch them strut.
