Benton County Restaurant Inspections

Information is from state Health Department records. Restaurants are listed in order of inspection date. All reports are from regular food service inspections unless otherwise noted. Critical violations are defined as items relating directly to factors that lead to food-borne illness and must be corrected immediately. Noncritical violations are defined as items that relate to maintenance of food operations and cleanliness.

Critical violations: A handwashing sink shall be maintained so that it is accessible at all times for employee use and not used for purposes other than handwashing; handwash sink blocked by mop bucket. Raw fish above ready-to-eat chicken salad and raw eggs above coleslaw in walk-in cooler.

Casey's General Store

Critical violations: Food prep employee did not remove gloves and wash hands after touching oven mitt before preparing sandwich; food prep workers should only touch food with a clean, sanitized surface. Pizza utensils found in handwashing sink near pizza prep; handwashing sink must be kept clean and clear for handwashing availability at all times. Missing label on spray bottle indicating content; must label all spray bottles.

Noncritical violations: Smores and Rice Krispy Treats in packaged cups for consumer were not label with list of ingredients in order by weight. Measuring cup being used as a scoop in pizza prep; scoops must be handled with handle kept out of food items.

Braum's Ice Cream

Critical violations: Employee touched raw hamburger with gloved hands then removed gloves, but did not wash hands before putting on new gloves. Missing time stamps on condiments and sandwich toppings. Must have time stamps written down for items being kept on time control for safety. Sanitizer in wiping bucket was at 200 ppm chlorine; must be between 50-100 ppm for chlorine.

Noncritical violations: Missing plugs for holes in walk-in freezer; not a smooth cleanable non-absorbent surface, replace plugs in the walk-in freezer.

Critical violations: None

Noncritical violations: Ice scoop being kept on ice machine; not a clean and sanitized surface, keep ice scoop in a container or hanger that can easily cleaned and sanitized daily. Missing test strips for chlorine sanitizer, there must be test strips for each type of sanitizer being used, chlorine is 50-100 ppm, tested daily. Sleeve in ice machine has black growth, but is not in contact with ice; must clean sleeve.
