FAYETTEVILLE -- Moses Kingsley scored a season-high 24 points in Arkansas' 99-86 victory over LSU on Saturday and joined the 1,000-point club in the process.

Kingsley went over the mark with a pair of free throws with 5:58 remaining and now has 1,001 career points as the 40th Razorback to hit 1,000.

"It feels good," Kingsley said. "To do it in front of the home crowd, it feels very, very good. I want to give credit to my teammates for getting me the ball and for my coaches and everybody in the Razorback program."

Kingsley, who made 10 of 18 shots, broke the 20-point mark for the first time this season.

"Big props to Moses Kingsley surpassing 1,000 points," Coach Mike Anderson said. "He's done it basically in two years. ... He's developed and really become a tremendous player."

Kingsley is one of six Razorbacks to lead the team in scoring, which he has done in three games. Daryl Macon has led in scoring a team-high nine games, and Dusty Hannahs has done it in six games. Jaylen Barford, Adrio Bailey and Anton Beard have led the team once.

Only four players led the team in scoring last year, with Hannahs, Kingsley and Bell combining to do it 31 times in 32 games. Jimmy Whitt led the team with 11 points in a loss at Mississippi State.

Personnel report

Senior Manny Watkins, who was ill, played just two minutes, and junior Dustin Thomas did not play in the first half.

Coach Mike Anderson said Thomas had a team violation, "just in-house stuff," and Watkins was ailing at practice Friday.

"Manuale is an energy guy," Anderson said. "He was sick. He had nothing he could give us."

Thomas finished with 2 points, 4 rebounds and 4 fouls in 6 minutes.

Board binge

Arkansas ripped LSU 44-30 on the boards, marking the third consecutive game in which the Razorbacks have outrebounded their opponent.

Arkansas did not win the board battle in any of its first four SEC games, including a minus-15 deficit against Kentucky and a minus-12 deficit to Mississippi State in back-to-back losses.

Nice line

Guard Anton Beard bounced back from a rough game at Texas A&M with 16 points on 5-of-7 shooting, including 2 of 2 from three-point range and 4 of 4 from the free-throw line. Beard also had a game-high seven assists and no turnovers.

He had two points on 1-of-3 shooting with no assists and two turnovers in the Hogs' 62-60 victory at Texas A&M on Tuesday.

"I saw a guy who bounced back from the A&M game," Coach Mike Anderson said. "I thought he was focused and in charge and leading this group."

Free-throw funk

LSU made only 15 of 30 free throws, including 4 of 14 (28.6 percent) in the second half.

Arkansas, the No. 19 team in the country in free-throw percentage at 76 percent, had a few hiccups in the second half and wound up 25 of 35 (71.4 percent).

Center Moses Kingsley missed four consecutive free throws on one offensive sequence late in the game. Kingsley missed a pair at the 4:43 mark, but Dustin Thomas corralled the rebound. Dusty Hannahs missed a floater, Kingsley rebounded, was fouled again at the 4:31 mark and missed both free throws again.

Loud crowd

With classes back in session, students helped push attendance to an estimated 16,099 at Walton Arena.

"There was energy in the building, and they got a chance to see an exciting game," Arkansas Coach Mike Anderson said.

Said guard Anton Beard: "We've got to give a shout out to the crowd, to the student body and the fans that came out and supported us. That really helped us a lot in this game. We kind of needed that little push when they came back within six."

Shooting shuffle

LSU missed 10 of its first 11 shots, but rebounded to make 31 of its final 51 to finish 51.6 percent for the game. The Tigers were 12 of 32 (37.5 percent) in the first half and 20 of 30 (66.7 percent) in the second half.

The Razorbacks were more consistent, making 15 of 27 (55.6 percent) in the first half, 18 of 35 (51.4 percent) in the second half and 53.2 percent for the game.

14 two ways

Arkansas guard Jaylen Barford scored all 14 of his points on 5-of-10 shooting in the second half after he went 0 of 2 in the first half. It was a reversal from his performance at Kentucky, when he scored 14 points in the first half and went scoreless after halftime. Barford has scored 14 points in three of the past six games.

Touchdown!

The Razorbacks converted a missed three-pointer by Kieran Hayward in the final minute of the first half in lightning fashion.

Adrio Bailey rebounded the long miss near the elbow, turned and fired a long pass to Anton Beard, who had gotten behind LSU's defense. Beard had to jump high to bring in the pass, but he made the catch and scored on a layup less than four seconds after Hayward's miss.

Getting started

Forward Arlando Cook returned to the starting lineup at power forward in place of Dustin Thomas, who started the last two games and 15 of 19 overall. Moses Kingsley is the only Razorback to start all 19 games, while Daryl Macon has started 17, Jaylen Barford 13, Manny Watkins 12 and Dusty Hannahs 10.

Freshman Adrio Bailey was the Hogs' sixth man for the first time, subbing in for Cook, and he contributed early with a tip-out for an offensive rebound on a series that ended with Anton Beard hitting a three-pointer from the left wing for a 15-4 Arkansas lead.

Tip-ins

• LSU freshman Skylar Mays scored a season-high 22 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field and 9 of 11 free throws.
