Fire's victim ID'd in Baxter County

MOUNTAIN HOME -- Authorities on Monday identified the body that was discovered in the debris of a burned Baxter County home, Sheriff John Montgomery said.

Firefighters found the body of Donna Lou Rollins, 56, after they responded to a house fire west of Mountain Home on Sunday night. Montgomery said someone called the Baxter County 911 center to report the fire at 78 County Road 496 at 11:14 p.m. Sunday.

Firefighters from the Mountain Home Fire Department and from volunteer departments in Midway and Clarkridge helped fight the blaze. A second telephone call to police indicated that the house was nearly destroyed, and the homeowner's car was parked there.

Montgomery said firefighters found Rollins' body after the fire was extinguished. The body has been sent to the state Crime Laboratory for autopsy, the sheriff said.

Neighbors said Rollins lived alone.

The cause of the fire was under investigation by Baxter County deputies, Montgomery said.
