BEAVER LAKE

Black bass and striped bass are biting well.

James Whittle at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said black bass are biting Alabama rigs, jerk baits, crank baits and jig and pigs. Alabama rigs are catching the largest bass, he said. Work lures around bluff ends or submerged timber.

Crappie are biting south of the Arkansas 12 bridge on minnows or jigs eight to 12 feet deep. Fish around timber and docks.

Striped bass are biting brood minnows or shad around Deer and Bear islands north of the Arkansas 12 bridge. Anglers report catching crappie in the Horseshoe Bend area. Average water temperature is 45 to 48 degrees.

Mike Whitehouse at Hickory Creek Marina said striped bass are biting brood minnows in the Hickory Creek area. Several stripers over 20 pounds have been caught recently.

Crappie are biting jigs or minnows eight to 10 feet deep. Fish around brush piles and submerged timber.

Black bass and walleye are biting spinner baits.

BEAVER TAILWATER

Lisa Mullins at the Beaver Dam Store said trout are biting several fly types including pheasant tails, midges, hare’s ears, Copper Johns and San Juan worms.

Best bait is Power Bait in bright colors. The top lures are small spoons or Flicker Shad crank baits in size 4 or 5.

LAKES FAYETTEVILLE

The lakes reopened Sunday. No fishing report yet.

LAKE ATALANTA

James Whittle at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said trout fishing is slow to fair on Power Bait, worms or small spoons.

SWEPCO LAKE

Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said black bass fishing is good with a variety of soft plastic lures fished two to 20 feet deep and rigged any style. Swim baits may also work.

ILLINOIS RIVER

Stroud recommends using hair jigs or jerk baits for black bass.

BELLA VISTA

Harvey Horne at Hook, Line and Sinker in Bella Vista said black bass are biting well on jerk baits and crank baits at all Bella Vista lakes. Bluegill are biting crickets or worms at Loch Lomond 15 to 20 feet deep.

Trout fishing is good at Lake Brittany on sunrise Power Bait or small spoons.

EASTERN OKLAHOMA

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation reports good crappie fishing at Grand Lake with jigs around brush and docks. Catfish are biting well on shad.

TABLE ROCK LAKE

Pete Wenners at Pete’s Professional Guide Service said black bass are biting well on jerk baits and fair on crank baits. Fish areas with ledge rock and gravel. A good jerk bait color is a shad body with a green or purple back.

Bass can also be caught 35 to 60 feet deep in the center of creek arms with grubs or ice fishing jigs.
