Mercy clinics expand business hours

Mercy Clinic expanded the hours of its convenient care clinics in the Fort Smith area.

Mercy Convenient Care -- River Valley, 3505 S. 79th Street, and Mercy Convenient Care -- Zero Street, 1400 Zero Street, will be open from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. every day.

Nine physicians and a nurse practitioner staff Mercy Convenient Care -- River Valley and Mercy Convenient Care -- Zero Street, offering care from family to emergency medicine.

Arvest Bank breaks mortgage record

Arvest Bank announced that its mortgage division for the first time originated more than $1 billion in purchase-money mortgage loans in 2016. Arvest announced in September that it had originated more than $1 billion in mortgage loans -- both purchase-money and refinances -- for the 14th consecutive year.

Arvest had closed a total of 6,170 purchase-money loans with a total loan value of $1 billion as of Dec. 28. Arvest closed a total of 5,931 purchase-money loans with total loan value of $941,340,727 in 2015.

Development firm introduces program

Arkansas-based professional development company Grandslam Performance Associates LLC fully launched its online Community of Practice aimed at helping businesses develop and engage their employees at all levels. GPA launched s2pcommunity.com to scale "serve2perform," which is the firm's proprietary model built on engaging service -- mentorship, board service, peer-to-peer learning, volunteerism, civic engagement, etc.

The company worked closely with its advisory board to develop s2pcommunity.com and is working with them to kick-start their 1 million by 2020 campaign. Companies represented include Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Tyson Foods Inc., J.B. Hunt Transport Inc., Boys & Girls Clubs of America, KPMG, CenturyLink and Washington Regional Medical Center.

GPA will host a serve2perform event from 8- 10 a.m. Feb. 9 that will feature Charisse Childers, director of the Arkansas Department of Career Education. This event is free. To register, contact Samantha Arroyos at [email protected]. Space is limited.

Human resources program now open

Registration is open for a 15-session program at the University of Arkansas Global Campus to help human resource professionals update their knowledge and prepare for certification exams.

Participants can register online at training.uark.edu/register for the Society for Human Resource Management Learning System sessions set from 4:30- 7 p.m. Feb. 2 through May 18. Participants can connect live online or meet face to face in a classroom in Rogers at 3300 Market St., Suite 402. Participants unable to attend the live course can also log on anytime, from anywhere, to view the recorded sessions via Blackboard Collaborate once the sessions have aired.

The cost is $1,349 and includes 15 sessions, books, access to Blackboard Collaborate, an unlimited number of practice tests on learnhrm.com and all recorded sessions. A 10 percent discount is available to University of Arkansas faculty, staff, students and Alumni Association members.

Projects firm opens temporary office

WER Architects/Planners has opened its Northwest Arkansas office at a temporary location at 2241 Green Acres Road in Fayetteville.

The office is run by John Langham, AIA, LEED AP. He has been in the Northwest Arkansas market for the last 12 years, serving 10 years as a principal and partner at a Rogers firm. He has been responsible for a wide variety of projects, including office, multi-use, educational, retail and civic.

WER Architects/Planners began in Little Rock in 1978. Its portfolio includes the University of Arkansas Founders Hall, historic Cane Hill College restoration, University of Arkansas Don Tyson Center for Agricultural Sciences, University of Arkansas Fowler Family Baseball & Track Training Facility, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Regional Programs West, Southwest Power Pool's corporate campus and the Richard Sheppard Arnold United States Courthouse.
