WASHINGTON COUNTY

First United Methodist Church in Springdale, 206 W. Johnson Ave., sponsors First Youth as they serve a spaghetti dinner fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday in the Family Life Center.

The Rev. Andrew Thompson leads a "Next Steps" class for those considering membership and want to learn more about the Methodist faith and the church. The class meets at 5:30 p.m. each Sunday, this week to Feb. 12.

Mount Sequoyah Conference and Retreat Center in Fayetteville, 150 N. Skyline Drive, offers two technology training courses, focusing on Wordpress, on Jan. 26. A basic class runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and an advanced class from noon to 5 p.m. Mark Epperson and Butch Renfroe, who oversee technology for the Arkansas conference of the United Methodist Church, lead the classes. Cost is $20 per person for one class, or $30 for both, and includes lunch. Participants should bring their own laptops.

Mount Sequoyah offers the "Beyond Conference," a networking opportunity for those working in children's ministry, on Jan. 27-28. The Rev. Melissa Cooper of the Life Enrichment Center in Fruitland Park, Fla., leads the class. She is considered an expert in intergenerational ministry with the Florida conference of the United Methodist Church.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Rogers, 1101 W. Hudson Road, holds just one service at 10 a.m. Sunday. Sunday school and Bible study classes begin at 8:45 a.m. After the service, the church presents a youth cafe and voters meeting.

Unitarian Universalists of Benton County, 1110 S.E. Evergreen St., Bentonville, holds discussion groups at 11 a.m. Sunday. The church offers Sunday school for children is based on a Unitarian Universalist, Montessori adaptation of Jerome Berryman's book, Spirit Play.

New Life Christian Church in Bella Vista, 103 Riordan Road, offers worship services at 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. each Sunday. New Life Kids Programming for infants to sixth-graders is offered during all three services.

Emerge for New Life , for students in seventh and eighth grades, meets at 5 p.m. each Sunday. Engage, for teenagers in the ninth through 12th grades, meets at 5 p.m. each Wednesday.

The church sponsors a Sister2Sister game and fellowship night at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

The church offers Discovery New Life, for those wanting to learn more about the church, at 9:45 a.m. Jan. 22 and Jan. 29. Starting Point, an eight-week small-group program for people discovering the faith, begins at 10 a.m. Feb. 12.

LifeGroup registration for this semester starts Jan. 22. LifeGroups are small-group Bible studies meeting weekly in homes or at the church.

Highland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Bella Vista, 1500 Forest Hills Blvd., offers worship at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday. Sunday school classes start at 9 a.m., with four adult studies and "Creative Worship" for youth. A fellowship lunch follows the Sunday worship service this week.

Disciple Women host breakfast at 10 a.m. today, with a reading of "God Shows No Partiality" by Phyllis Gotzh. The Disciple Men's group meets for breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 21, with Bella Vista Mayor Peter Christie speaking.

The church sponsors "Happening Place," a free chili and soup supper at 6 p.m. Feb. 10.

First United Methodist Church in Bella Vista, 20 Boyce Drive, offers traditional worship services at 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. each Sunday, with a contemporary service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday school classes meet at 9:30 a.m. Nursery care is provided.

Youth Life, for students in grades 7 to 12, meets from 6:30 to 8 p.m. each Wednesday, with supper at 5:30 p.m. Members of the church meet for prayer at 4:45 p.m. every Wednesday in the chapel.

The church collects quarters until Feb. 4, when the church holds a "Feed the Funnel" party, sponsored by Pack Shack. Each quarter buys one meal, and the goal is 15,000 meals packed during the party. The meals will be distributed to food pantries at local United Methodist churches.

Men's Emmaus has formed a new group meeting at 8:30 a.m. each Tuesday.

Pak-A-Sak collects food Sunday for the Habitat for Humanity food pantry. The Care & Share trailer will be in the church's upper parking lot from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday for donations of items to be sold in the organization's thrift store in Gravette. The church hosts a blood drive for the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 30.

A caregivers support group meets from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday and the first and third Tuesday of each month. The church also hosts weekly meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous on Monday and Saturday.

The Neighborhood Church in Bentonville, 2003 S.W. Regional Airport Road, offers a five-week book study on The Shack by William Paul Young. The study meets from 6 to 7:30 p.m. starting Jan. 25.

Theology and Pizza, a men's ministry, meets at 6 p.m. Jan. 27 at the Bike Rack Brewing Company in Bentonville.

The church needs to restock its Little Pantries. Items needed include perishable food items, personal hygiene items and hats and gloves.

Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd., worships at 9:30 a.m. every Sunday, with adult Bible study beginning at 8 a.m. Sunday. Children's worship is available for children ages 4-12, and nursery care is available.

Youth meet for pizza at 6 p.m. and Bible study at 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday. The Prayer Fellowship meets at 9:15 a.m. each Wednesday.

Blood pressure checks are available to the community from 9 a.m. to noon each Wednesday in the nurse's office.

The Growing Through Grief support group meets at 3:30 p.m. each Thursday in the parlor, and a prostate cance support group meets at 4 p.m. Jan. 24.

Village Bible Church in Bella Vista, 1591 Forest Hills Blvd., hosts an Evangelism Explosion workshop on sharing faith from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m Jan. 21. Cost is $15, and includes lunch.

The church meets for worship with communion at 10:15 a.m. each Sunday. Growth Group classes for all ages begin at 9 a.m. The church meets for singing, devotions, prayer and youth activities at 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday.

A women's Bible study, "Prayer: Essential to a Fruitful Christian Life," written and led by Joanne Morris, begins at 9 a.m. every Tuesday. A men's Bible study, led by Ron Morris, meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The church also offers a Bible study on the Book of Matthew, led by Ron Morris, at 6:30 p.m. each Thursday.

A women's knitting ministry and a White Cross Mission ministry meet at 7 p.m. each Tuesday working on projects for local children and adults, as well as some in a hospital in Congo.

The Oasis Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to noon each Wednesday.

Unity Church of the Ozarks, 902 S.W. Second St., Suite E, Bentonville, worships at 10:30 a.m. Sunday with new pastor, the Rev. Elise Cowan, leading the service.

The church presents a premeire screening of The Twelve Powers, a documentary by James Twyman, at noon Jan. 22. The film features wisdom from more than 40 ministers and follows James to the Middle East for a synchronized meditation.

The Masonic Philosophical Society meets the last Saturday of every month at the Unity Center to discuss individual and universal mysteries. A Wednesday evening group discussion centers around a spiritually focused passage at 7 p.m. each week. The prayer team meets at 12:15 p.m. Sunday and the first Sunday of every month.

The congregation continues collecting "Change for Change" to donate to the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank.

The Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, 1880 Forest Hills Blvd., sponsors the Men's Fellowship in a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday. The Men's Fellowship also meest at 8 a.m. Jan. 21 for breakfast and a program. Cost is $5, plus a canned food item for the Helping Hands Food Pantry.

The church holds a dinner church at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the fellowship hall, with an informal worship service. An offering will cover the cost of the meal.

A free low-impact exercise group meets at 8 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the fellowship hall

Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd., offers a traditional worship service at 8:30 a.m. every Sunday and a blended service at 10:45 a.m. Sunday school and adult Bible classes meet at 9:45 a.m.

The church offers "Dinner and a Movie" at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. A winter craft day is planned for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 28, for children ages 4 to 12.

The Sonshiners meet at 9 am. Thursday at the church at at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Highlands Health Care and Rehab. Men's Discipleship classes are at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. each Monday. Grief Share classes meet at 6 p.m. each Wednesday in the church library.

The Shepherd's Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Friday. The pantry currently needs donations of healthy cereals (such as oatmeal) for warm breakfasts and sugar-free fruit.
