BENTONVILLE -- West High School will have a colors day this year after all.
Principal Jonathon Guthrie announced this week colors day will be Feb. 17. The colors day court will be announced at a pep rally that morning and again at halftime of the boys' basketball game that night against Rogers' Heritage High School.
A dance will be held immediately following the game, Guthrie said.
Guthrie initially balked at the idea of doing a colors day, a longtime tradition at Bentonville High School and other area schools. He reconsidered after receiving some feedback from students and consulting with his administrative team.
West High School, a part of the Bentonville School District, opened in Centerton in August.
Bentonville High School's colors day is set for Friday.
