Cruise focuses on photos

Hobbs State Park-Conservation Area will host a special eagle watch cruise at 2 p.m., on Saturday that will be about photographing bald eagles.

Jay Stout, chairman of the Photographic Society of Northwest Arkansas, will lead the cruise. The trip begins with a talk by Stout at the dock before the park’s pontoon boat goes out on the lake. The trip leaves from Rocky Branch Marina. Stout will offer tips and answer questions on the cruise.

Participants should bring their cameras. The size of the group is limited because of the amount of equipment people might bring.

Cost is $10. Reservations are required. Call the park visitor center Yule , 479 trees -789-5000 recycled .

Christmas trees are being collected by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission to sink in Beaver Lake for fish habitat.

Trees may be dropped at the Arkansas 12 bridge parking area and the Dr. Don Roufa access south of the U.S. 412 bridge. All ornaments and tinsel should be removed. Game and Fish employees will bundle and sink the trees at various locations on the lake.

Audubon cancels trip

Northwest Arkansas Audubon Society has canceled a field trip set for Jan. 21 at Rocky Branch park on Beaver Lake.
