Patrons of the Peel Compton Foundation gathered for the "Gala at The Peel Mansion" benefit on Dec. 10 in Bentonville.

Peel Mansion plays host to fourth-graders in September for School Days, which features living history stations to help students learn about life around 1875, when the home was built, to help preserve the heritage and history of the area through education.

Seminars, art exhibitions and and an annual tree and plant sale in April are part of the offerings at Compton Gardens.

Foundation friends gathered for the gala included Lynne and Jim Walton, Corrina and Alan Dranow, Nancy Martin and Alan Lewis, Tom Gheen, Colleen Hendren, Rhonda and Harrison French, Melba Shewmaker, Dayle and Daniel Shewmaker, Shelley and Doug McMillon, Betsy and Loyd Phillips, Valorie and Randy Lawson, Cynthia Coughlin and Mary Zettle.

Bold bartenders battled to best each other with eggnog creations at the second annual Nog Off on Dec. 11 at the UARK Bowl in Fayetteville.

The event is presented by the United States Bartenders Guild, Fayetteville Chapter, which will donate proceeds from the event to the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank.

This year's winning con-nog-tion, Bootleg Eggnog, was created by the Little Rock team of Brett Bassett, David Burnette, Courtney Stowers and Sarah Harrington and featured Flor de Cana Grand 7-year-old rum.

Those helping the guild garner support for the NWA Food Bank included Andrew Crittendon, Jessica Partlow, Katherine O'Leary-Cole, Scott Baker, Gabriel Walker, Shaun Traxler, Laura Weiderhaft, Joshua Walters, Brandi Foster, Shey Bland, Laine Lotspeich and Kallee Crittendon.

Alice Walton, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art founder and board chairwoman, joined museum administrators Dec. 12 to welcome original museum members for an event to celebrate and thank those who have supported the museum since its debut in 2011.

Walton told members, "It's your museum. You've been with us through birth, diaper-hood, we are walking and will soon be running."

Among those from the inaugural class of members were Jerretta and Horace Hardwick, Margaret Whillock, Nancy and Paul Beahm, Carol Caldwell and Ed Clifford, Margaret Whillock, Sallie Overby, Helen Buchanan, Suzanne Patton, Janice Hardin, Denise Garner, Betty Robinson, Lowell Collins, Cindy Walters and Betty Flynt.
