The group began construction in January on the Healing Garden for Families at Willow Creek Women's Hospital in Johnson. The garden will be "a space to find peace and solitude in an otherwise sterile environment," said Audre Darling, foundation executive director. The garden will feature a picking garden for children, four sitting areas, a memorial garden and a fountain.

Among those enjoying wine and chocolates were Sheri Rothwell and Woody Bassett, Cynthia McClanahan, Marti Sudduth, Debbie Ogg, Laura Underwood, Michele and Steve Wilson, Ceri and Rolf Wilkin, Abby and Preston Stewart, Lori Fink, Julianne Brown, Fred Scarborough, Elizabeth Sullivan, Audre Darling and Angie and James Graves.

Border Cantos: Sight & Sound Explorations from the Mexican-American Border sponsors enjoyed a preview Thursday evening of the latest temporary exhibition at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville.

The exhibition is the product of a collaboration between Richard Misrach, American photographer, and Guillermo Galindo, a Mexican-American sculptor and composer. The exhibition consists of 80 works of photography, sculpture, found objects and sound "that documents and transforms artifacts from the border," organizers said. Many of the found objects were left behind by migrants. Other objects include spent shotgun shells, ladders and sections of the border wall.

Galindo, in reference to Misrach and himself, has said: "We're artists; we're not politicians. We want to give people the experience of the border, and to get acquainted with the immigrants' journey. To make it palpable. To make it human."

Border Cantos will offer several resources and programs such as lectures, community response labels, interactive activities, tours and conversation prompts. The exhibition opened Saturday and will run through April 24.

Those enjoying the preview included Mexican Consul Rodolfo Quilantan Arena, Denise and Hershey Garner, Lynn Carver, Jane and Dave Gearhart, Marcy Camacho, Gina Allgaier, Louis Greth and Alma and Hector Cueva.
