Repair closure set for Arkansas 220

Rebuilding part of Arkansas 220 will require a section of the road to close temporarily in Washington County, near Devil's Den State Park.

Beginning Monday, crews will begin to make lasting repairs to road damage from a landslide that occurred in December 2015, according to the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department. Temporary repairs were made at the time.

But the new work will mean no access to Devil's Den State Park from Arkansas 220. No detour is available. The Highway Department said there is no adequate lane width for traffic to safely travel through the work area. The project will likely take six to eight weeks.
