Culvert work to shut U.S. 67/167 lanes

Construction work on the U.S. 67/167 frontage roads in Pulaski and Lonoke counties will require daytime lane closures on the highway beginning Thursday and lasting into next week, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said.

Crews working on box culvert construction under the frontage roads adjacent to the highway between Vandenberg Boulevard in Jacksonville and Arkansas 5 in Cabot will require alternating lane closures on both sides of the highway. The closures will take place multiple areas from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily through Saturday and during the same hours from Monday through Feb. 9, weather permitting.

The work is part of a $79.2 million project to widen U.S. 67/167 to six lanes from four between Vandenberg and Arkansas 5 and is expected to be completed later this year.
