Police identify two who died in Tontitown wreck

TONTITOWN -- Police have released the names of the two people who died in a two-car collision at 10:24 a.m. Thursday.

Marcelina Cox, 72, and Ofelia Reyes, 58, both of Siloam Springs were in one of the cars and pronounced dead at the scene, according to a preliminary vehicle crash report by the Tontitown Police Department.

Trisha Ann Caldwell, 28, of Siloam Springs was in the other car, according to the report. Central EMS took Caldwell in serious condition to Washington Regional Medical Center. The hospital didn't respond to a request Friday morning for an updated condition.

The wreck happened on U.S. Highway 412 near the intersection of Henry De Tonti Boulevard.

The vehicle with Cox and Reyes was traveling west on the highway in the slow lane and then took a hard left into the eastbound lane, according to the report. The car passed in front of Caldwell's car and Caldwell's car struck the passenger's side. It was a T-bone accident.

There were no witnesses to explain the reason for the hard left turn, according to the report.

A GoFundMe has been set up for Trisha Caldwell.
