2 crashes in state kill 2 women, man

At least three people died in road traffic crashes since Wednesday.

Two women were killed and another was seriously hurt in a crash Thursday morning in Northwest Arkansas, police said.

The Tontitown Police Department officers were sent at 10:25 a.m. to a two-vehicle crash at Henry De Tonti Boulevard and Old Highway 68, Capt. Wes Hart said.

Hart said the crash happened in Tontitown as a vehicle traveling west crossed into eastbound traffic on Henry De Tonti Boulevard and hit an oncoming vehicle.

Two women in a Toyota Rav 4 -- one believed to be in her 60s and another in her 30s -- were killed, according to police.

The victims' identities were not released.

On Wednesday evening, a 54-year-old man died when his vehicle ran off a road in Jackson County, authorities said.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m., Kyle Barnhill was driving a 2006 Honda west on Jackson County Road 341 when he lost control of the vehicle in a curve and it ran off the road, an Arkansas State Police report said.

Barnhill, a Bradford resident, suffered fatal injuries.

Conditions at the time of the crash were described as foggy and dry.
