Arkansas State Police are investigating the death of a man who was found suffering from a gunshot wound in Newport on Saturday night, according to a Newport Police Department news release.
A caller dialed 911 at about 10:15 p.m. Saturday to report that Quinton Pruitt, 43, of Newport was unresponsive at 239 Calhoun Circle, the release stated.
Officers entered the residence and found Pruitt with a single gunshot wound. Pruitt died after being taken to a local hospital, authorities said.
No additional information was released on Sunday.
